Paymium pays you for trading bitcoin (BTC)

All traders who place limit orders for buying or selling on the Paymium platform are paid up to 0.1% of the amount of their order. A small revolution since you are paid to trade.

What is Paymium?

Paymium is a French bitcoin exchange platform co-founded by Pierre Noizat. It was launched in 2011, making it the world’s oldest bitcoin exchange still in operation .

The company is raising several million euros in 2018, which allows it to expand its offers with the launch of Blockchain.io. Another platform dedicated to the exchange of many crypto-assets whether for individuals and professionals. Based in Paris, Paymium now has more than 220,000 customers.

How does it work?

Since March 2020, traders who place limit orders on Paymium are rewarded with an amount equivalent to 0.1% of their order when the trade is executed. This reward is applied to all their maker orders with no volume limits.

These traders (also called makers ) place buy orders at prices below the market and sell orders at prices above the market.

Conversely, traders who use taker orders will buy directly at the market price whether they are sellers or buyers. Taker orders are charged at 0.5%, which remains competitive compared to competing platforms. Learn more about trading rewards .

How to benefit from the trading reward? Differentiate between order types

Notice to beginners: a simplified trading interface is also available on the site or the mobile application.

Select the “ buy / sell BTC (advanced) ” menu to place a limit order.

Select the “ buy / sell ” menu to place a market order.

What is the interest for Paymium? Obviously attract traders and offer more liquidity on the platform! The more users the platform has, the easier the purchases and sales will be thanks to a large volume.

How does Paymium finance this?

As explained previously, one of the problems encountered by an exchange platform is to maintain a sufficient level of liquidity on the platform. Offering negative fees to makers (-0.1% in the case of Paymium) is one way of attracting liquidity.

In return, taker orders are normally billed at 0.5%. The principle is win-win-win: the trader who makes a maker order is rewarded for his risk-taking, other users benefit from better liquidity, the platform receives a commission when the maker order meets a taker .
